Kevin
is a good friend going back a number of years. He is a big
fan of the American Freedom Train, and locomotive #4449
in particular.
I took
the photo (or one like it; memory fades) of his O Gauge
American Freedom Train model while visiting Kevin and his
wife Brenda a few years ago.
At the
time, the "live steam" Dash 9 was only a dream
of Kevin's, but as you can see he isn't one to just think
about things.
And
Brenda puts up with it all...

The
American Freedom Train by K-LINE -- the longest production

the special matching Museum Car offered later!

Kevin's
Dash 9.
It's
huge -- over 10 feet long and about 1000 lbs.
Kevin decorated it in the style of the Southern Pacific's
Bicentennial diesels whose paint job was designed by the
late Chester Mack (who also designed the paint for the 1947
Freedom Train).
